General terms and conditions

How to book a course
To secure a place on an Oliver International Summer Camp (School), please return the Application Form together with payment of non-refundable registration fee or book online at www.oliver-lt.com. The booking of a place is regarded as your acceptance of all our conditions and rules.



Payment of fees
On receipt of the application and registration fee a letter of confirmation is sent with a Statement of Fees which should be settled at least 4 weeks before the course starting date. In the case of registration less than 6 weeks before the course starting date, the full amount of the cost of the course must be sent with the Application Form. PLEASE NOTE: students will not be allowed to start their course unless FULL PAYMENT has been received by the School. All bank charges must be paid by the student.

Acceptable methods of payment are bank transfer or cash. Payment by credit card is subject to a surcharge of 3%.

Conditions for cancelling or changing a course by the Student

•All cancellations must be made in writing and will take effect from the date we receive such notice. Cancellation charges, which also apply to the curtailment of any booking, are made according the amount of notice received as follows:

31 days or more No charge
30 days - 7 days 15% of total holiday cost
7 days – 36 hours 50% of total holiday cost
Less than 36 hours 100% of total holiday cost

• Any refund due when a course is changed or cancelled, will be paid to the person who paid for the student’s course at his/her home address at the end of the course.

Change or Cancellation of a course by the School
The School reserves the right to cancel a course, or make changes to course arrangements, without liability, if forced to do so for reasons beyond its control. If this happened, the School would seek to offer alternative arrangements, dates or venues. If the School cancelled a course booked and paid for by a student in accordance with these terms other than for reasons beyond its control, and did not offer an alternative acceptable to the student, the School would pay compensation as follows:

• Where the cancellation is before the start of the course, compensation equal to the deposit paid by the student or
• Where the cancellation is after the start of the course, compensation equal to one week’s fees.

Liability and Insurance
Students are covered by a standard insurance for medical assistance, which is not included in the price of the program. 

The School acts only as an intermediary between its students and travel organizations. Unless and to the extent caused by the School’s negligence, the School cannot be held responsible for any delay or accident during a journey. 

The School reserves the right not to allow on the course a student suffering from any illness, medical condition, or mental or physical disability which has not been disclosed on the Application Form. This brochure, issued by the School, gives the only terms and information that can be referred to in the event of a disagreement between the student and the School. These terms and conditions are governed by USA law and do not affect your statutory rights under USA law.

Personal Information and Photographs
We use the personal information that you give us, including information about your health and religious or dietary requirements, to perform our contract with you. We may also use it to ensure that we comply with USA law, for internal training, or to send you further information about our courses and services. We do not share your details with third parties other than as necessary to perform our contract with you.

The School reserves the right to use photographs taken during courses to illustrate its promotional material. If a student wishes that his or her photo should not appear in this material, they should write to the School within one month of the photo-shoot. These photos have no commercial or contractual value.

Further conditions specific to Young Learners (7-17 years) 

The School reserves the right to issue disruptive students with a warning letter and, if there is no improvement in behavior, to send them home at their parents’ expense. 

Whilst under full supervision of Oliver International Camp participants are expected to comply with all rules and regulations imposed on them.  

The School further reserves the right to send home without a warning letter any student committing a serious offence, especially one involving the police, and to include the following: theft, smoking in any School building, the possession of, purchase of or consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs.

Children on residential courses have evening activities and are not allowed to stay out unsupervised.
Please note that the School cannot be held responsible for any incident whilst the student is out unsupervised.

We do not accept responsibility for any loss of, or damage to, any property belongings to participants attending the Summer Camp. Even as every help is given, it is the child’s responsibility to ensure that all belongings are collected before departure. We do not accept responsibility for any loss or expense due to delays or changes in public transport, weather, quarantine, sickness, strike, riot or any other cause.

Transportation

If student arrives in Los Angeles International Airport, he or she will be meet in the arrival hall by trained Oliver staff, identifiable by their "Oliver Camp" t-shirts. Oliver couriers travel with the students to

the camp, where they are met by the camp staff. This high level of supervision is maintained throughout the course and includes the departure day, up to the point where the students enter the airport departure lounge.

Airport transfers are arranged by Oliver on stan- dard dates and times.

Standard arrival times: Sundays 11:00hrs – 19:00hrs

Standard departure times: Sundays 13:00hrs – 19:00hrs

Outside of standard times a personal taxi service is available.

Please note: in order for Oliver travel to arrange a transfer, Oliver must receive full ticket information at least 14 days before the date of travel. If these details are not received, the transfer may be cancelled.

In these terms “the School” means the Oliver Language Training where you book your course.
